SEHRISH IRUM SEHRISH IRUM From NBA lottery pick to heroin addict arrested with grenade launcher

Robert Swift didn't even need college. He was selected by the Seattle Supersonics with the 12th overall pick in the 2004 NBA Draft, straight out of high school and ahead of players such as Jameer Nelson, Trevor Ariza, Josh Smith and Tony Allen. As recently as 2009, the 7-foot-1 center was still in the league.
Fast forward about five years.
Swift, who is now 28, was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm this week after police allegedly found him living at his drug dealer's house amid a plethora of used drug paraphernalia with a sawed-off shotgun and a grenade launcher. Police say Swift told them he's a heroin addict. The house he was found in is reportedly located just 300 feet from an elementary school.
SWAT officers raided the home of 54-year-old Trygve Bjorkstam in Kirkland, Washington, early on the morning of Oct. 4, according to the Seattle Post-Intelligencer.
Prosecutors say Bjorkstam was Swift's drug dealer, then the two became roommates, and that Swift was helping Bjorkstam collect a heroin debt from someone else. Bjorkstam is now facing federal gun and drug charges, according to the Post-Intelligencer.
“People have been ripping me off,” Bjorkstam reportedly told police. “Rob and I are trying to put a stop to that.”
Police allegedly found drugs and drug paraphernalia scattered throughout the house, as well as a sawed-off shotgun in Swift's bedroom. A 40-mm grenade launcher was reportedly found in a safe in Swift's bedroom. Police allegedly found 17 more guns, including three assault rifles, in a safe in Bjorkstam's bedroom.
Swift did not admit to dealing drugs himself, but allegedly told investigators that he was a heroin addict, a daily user of the drug and Bjorkstam was his dealer.
As a senior at Highland High School in Bakersfield, California, Swift was rated as the 14th-best basketball prospect in the class of 2004, ahead of future NBA stars including LaMarcus Aldridge, Rajon Rondo, Kyle Lowry and Al Horford. He made some $10 million in his NBA career, according to The Seattle Times.
So where did it all go wrong for Robert Swift? That's hard to say, but an event last year foreshadowed his arrest this autumn.

After a last-ditch attempt at a second wind, the Philae comet-lander has gone into standby mode.
But before depleting its batteries and losing signal, Philae was able to send data it had collected to the European Space Agency, which now plans to analyze the findings. The space probe that joined Philae on its mission will continue to keep tabs on the comet, 67P/ Churyumov–Gerasimenko, according to tweets sent by accounts run by the space agency.

SEHRISH IRUM SEHRISH IRUM KLM offers priceless opportunity to sleep on a converted airliner

Love airplanes so much you wish you could live on one? Three lucky winners may get the chance to do just that, at least for a night.
KLM Royal Dutch Airlines has listed a converted airliner on Airbnb. The unique accommodation includes a living room, master bedroom, two kid's beds, two kitchens and eight (yes, eight) small bathrooms. There is also Wi-Fi, kitchen appliances, first class chairs, a game console and of course a giant cockpit panorama window.
"Located right beside the runway of Amsterdam’s bustling Schiphol airport, our detached airplane comes with all conveniences and will truly be your home away from home," reads the listing.
If you're hoping to pay for the pleasure of staying on this plane, with a view of planes taking off and landing right outside, you're out of luck. Instead, you'll have to convince KLM in 100 words or less why you should get to stay on Nov. 28, 29 or 30. The carrier is also providing transportation for winners to the Schiphol airport.

Sehrish Irum Sehrish Irum Apple thinks iOS 'Masque Attack' isn't such a big deal

Apple has publicly responded to the newly revealed iOS vulnerability that allows attackers to install malware that replaces your legitimate apps. For example, you could receive a prompt to install a new "Facebook" app, and the malware would then supersede the actual Facebook app, leaving something nasty in its place.
The tech company said in statement that the vulnerability hasn't been used against customers, and security measures are in place to prevent bad software from making its way onto your device.

Sehrish Irum Sehrish Irum Jim Carrey ruined people's lives with 'Dumb and Dumber' haircuts

Today in terrible life decisions: letting Jim Carrey cut your hair into a Dumb and Dumber-inspired bowlcut.
The actor, who was a guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live Thursday, stood on Hollywood Boulevard offering haircuts to innocent passersby. The lucky winners took home the prize of looking absolutely ridiculous.
Let's hope they at least got a selfie out of it.

The owner of a website that instructs people how to beat polygraph tests was indicted by a federal grand jury on Friday for allegedly doing just that — "training customers to lie and conceal crimes during polygraph examinations," the FBI announced.
Doug Williams, a former Oklahoma City police officer and owner of Polygraph.com, who's been teaching people how to pass polygraph tests since 1979, was indicted on obstruction of justice and mail fraud charges related to his work. The Department of Justice's public affairs office announced the news in a press release. It reads, in part:
Douglas Williams, 69, of Norman, Oklahoma, was charged in a five-count indictment in the Western District of Oklahoma with mail fraud and obstruction. According to allegations in the indictment, Williams, the owner and operator of Polygraph.com, marketed his training services to people appearing for polygraph examinations before federal law enforcement agencies, federal intelligence agencies, and state and local law enforcement agencies, as well as people required to take polygraph examinations under the terms of their parole or probation.
The indictment further alleges that Williams trained an individual posing as a federal law enforcement officer to lie and conceal involvement in criminal activity from an internal agency investigation. Williams also allegedly trained a second individual posing as an applicant seeking federal employment to lie and conceal crimes in a pre-employment polygraph examination. Williams, who was paid for both training sessions, is alleged to have instructed the individuals to deny having received his polygraph training.
Williams is an outspoken critic of polygraph tests. On his website, he says polygraph tests are neither reliable nor accurate, calling them "insidious Orwellian instruments of torture," a "scam" and a "sick joke." He says he's administered thousands of tests with the Oklahoma City Police Department, the FBI and the Secret Service and claims to have testified before Congress and advised two presidents.
He's made numerous appearances on television as an expert on the subject, appearing on CBS 60 Minutes, CNN, Dateline and Penn & Teller: Bullshit!, to name a few.
Williams posted a series of videos to YouTube on Nov. 7 explaining his services:

Some skill sets are easier to screen for than others. A writing sample will highlight communication skills; extremely tough questions will test a candidate’s ability to think on his or her feet; and asking the applicant to discuss previous roles will provide information about his or her experience.
But how can you test for "soft skills," such as teamwork and empathy, during the interview?
There’s no magic formula, but essentially you need to look for two things: self-awareness (because you want a candidate who can make the connection between his or her actions and professional outcomes) and instincts (because you want someone who would intuitively take the empathetic, team-oriented and optimistic approach).
To that end, read on for two questions you can ask in future interviews that will help you sniff outthe perfect people to add to your team.
